Beschreibungen

This book addresses new ways to optimize the fabrication process and performance of iron-based superconducting wires and tapes based on the powder-in-tube (PIT) method. Further, it systemically analyzes and enhances the current-carrying ability of wire and tape conductors with regard to chemical addition, mechanical deformation, and heat treatment. The microstructure of the superconducting cores is studied by means of the magneto-optical imaging technique, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and flux pinning analysis. This book will benefits all students, researchers, and technical personnel who work in superconducting materials, applied superconductivity, and the power industry.

Introduction.- Fabrication and characterization of iron-based superconducting wires and tapes.- Effect of metal additives on iron-based superconducting tapes.- Mechanical deformation and grain texture of iron-based superconducting tapes.-Microstructure of superconducting cores and the mechanism of critical current enhancement.-Architecture and the fabricating route of multifilamentary iron-based superconducting tapes.- Conclusion and future prospects.

Dr. Chao Yao received his B.Eng. from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 2008 and Ph.D. in New Material for Energy and Electrical Engineering from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2014. He is currently an associate professor in Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research mainly focuses on the fabrication and characterization of high-performance powder-in-tube iron-based superconducting wires and tapes.
