<p>The 5<sup>th</sup> volume of <em>Green Chemical Processing</em> considers sustainable chemistry in the context of governmental and corporate interests, explaining how “red tape” can help or hinder the “greening” of industry processes. The American Chemical Society’s 12 Principles of Green Chemistry are woven throughout this text as well as the series to which this book belongs. </p>
<p> A Fellow of the American Chemical Society, Mark A. Benvenuto received his Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from the University of Virginia. After a post-doctoral fellowship at Pennsylvania State University, he joined the University of Detroit Mercy (USA) as a professor of chemistry and department chairperson. He teaches all levels of general chemistry, as well as: inorganic chemistry, organometallic chemistry and industrial chemistry. </p>
<p> Heinz Plaumann, Ph.D., is a former Technical Manager/Director for BASF who has led groups to develop and launch highly profitable new products in markets including polyurethanes, detergents, coatings, emulsion polymers, rubber. He is also a Fellow of the Chemical Institute of Canada and has been an adjunct professor/lecturer at several universities. </p>
