Autorenportrait

سعيد تقي الدين كان أديبًا ومسرحيًا لبنانيًا وُلد في بعقلين عام 1904م. تلقى تعليمه في لبنان والتحق بالجامعة الأمريكية هناك، حيث تخرج عام 1925م. خلال دراسته، انضم إلى جمعية "العروة الوثقى" وتولى عدة مناصب فيها حتى أصبح رئيسها ومدير تحرير مجلتها. بدأ تقي الدين الكتابة المسرحية في شبابه، وألَّف مسرحية "لولا المحامي" في العشرين من عمره. بعد هجرته إلى الفلبين، نضج أسلوبه الأدبي وألَّف مسرحيات شهيرة مثل "نخب العدو" و"حفنة ريح". عُيِّن قنصلًا فخريًا للبنان في الفلبين عام 1946م، وانتمى في الخمسينيات إلى "الحزب القومي السوري". بعد عدة تضييقات، هاجر إلى المكسيك ثم إلى كولومبيا حيث عاش بقية حياته. تُوفي في كولومبيا عام 1960م.
